Sing Out and Dance About
SING OUT AND DANCE ABOUT! and Yarrells Preparatory School have combined to form a new Music & Movement Class for 0-2’s and their Parents/Carers. The class is open to current Yarrells’ parents and pupils as well as the wider community.
On Wednesday afternoons 2.00-2.30pm we gather in the nursery for a very special ‘Mummy and Me’ time. We sing some of our favourite action songs and finger rhymes, play peekaboo with scarves, explore fast and slow/loud and soft using percussion instruments, use our bodies to explore different ways of moving (walk, run, stomp, tiptoe, crawl etc.) and catch bubbles!
Over the past few weeks the weather has been so nice that after class we have taken our snack into the garden for a picnic. The children then enjoy some outdoor playtime before they go home.
I am thrilled to say we have had some very positive feedback from parents so far such as: “My girls love going to the group on a Wednesday and love interacting with the other children there, thoroughly enjoyed it - and half an hour is not long enough, cheers Jenny” and “Oscar really enjoys coming to the group on a Wednesday, it’s a lovely shared experience for all the children and parents. It’s also so nice not to have to rush off as soon as the session is over as Jenny gives us all a drink and a biscuit”.
