Yarrells Preparatory School have been invited to the European Parliament in Strasbourg on Thursday 12th May to join their French partner school, Colège Victor Hugo from Lassay Les Châteaux in Mayenne, in receiving the prestigious Hippocrene Prize for Education. This prize is awarded each year to a class and their teachers who participate in partnership projects with other European schools. It promotes exchanges and joint projects to encourage young people to work together as European citizens with a common sense of belonging and understanding of each other’s cultures.
Andrew Roberts-Wray, the Headmaster of Yarrells, said, “At a time when British people are trying to decide whether being part of Europe is a good thing or not, it is refreshing to see that the next generation are keen and willing to work together on the most important reason for the European Union, creating peace and understanding between the various countries of the continent.”
He will be meeting Mr Ashley Fox, MEP for Dorset, who is keen to congratulate Yarrells and their partner school, Colège Victor Hugo, and to support this excellent initiative.
