Year 6 Win Netball Tournament at BCS – Friday 4th October 2019

On Friday 4th October the Year 6 netball team competed at the BCS Netball tournament in Southbourne. The tournament saw teams invited from across Poole and Bournemouth. There were hard fought matches and some surprising results. Park advanced from Group 1 and Yarrells advanced from group 2 as the top teams. In the semi-finals Yarrells played St Joseph’s and the team played some really nice combinations and saw some accurate shooting by Annabel S and Aimee K to win the match 4-0. Park beat the other semi-finalists to advance to the final too.

The final was played with great tempo and was highly competitive. Yarrells scored early on with Annabel moving into an excellent shooting position and shooting with accuracy to put Yarrells 1-0 up. Park hit back with some great evasion of their own to make it 1-1, however, through some brilliant defensive play from Paige V (Year 5) and Lottie V who managed to turn the ball back over to regain possession and set another attack in motion. Some quick thinking by Amelia and brilliant interchanges between Aimee and Annabel to create space saw Aimee score to make the score 2-1, quickly followed by Aimee scoring again to make it 3-1 to Yarrells. Isis and Matilda swapped on for Paige and Lottie and they too showed good awareness to intercept a Park attack and move the ball up court quickly and accurately, resulting in Annabel scoring to make the final score 4-1 to Yarrells. Yarrells were awarded with some impressive performances by winning the BCS Year 6 netball tournament.

Well done to the team of Aimee K, Annabel S, Lottie V, Isis D, Amelia Mc, Matilda B, Paige V.
