New Head at Yarrells School
Mrs Sally Weber-Spokes
Yarrells Preparatory School of Upton in Poole is delighted to welcome their new Head, Sally Weber-Spokes, who started in September 2018. She is looking forward to leading the already flourishing and vibrant school community in its commitment to the development of well-rounded boys and girls between the ages of 2-13 years.
Mrs Weber-Spokes is a passionate, highly regarded and experienced educationalist with deeply held beliefs about the importance of the provision of a holistic education of the highest quality in all areas of learning: academic, the arts and sports. Speaking of her appointment to the school, she said:
‘Yarrells is a gorgeous school from which happiness and warmth radiates in abundance. Every person I have met within its walls is deeply committed to the best possible education of young people and this excites me tremendously. Children are living in a rapidly changing world and it is incredibly important to think deeply about and provide opportunities to develop the skills and qualities young people will need for their futures. I believe passionately that children need a secure and nurturing educational foundation, with wide and varied opportunities for engagement. It is only then that they will fully grow in self-confidence and flourish. I am so looking forward to leading the Yarrells family further in its support and development of every single young person’s abilities and aptitudes, whatever those may be.’
Yarrells has an excellent reputation across all disciplines and provides outstanding pastoral care. Upon leaving the school, pupils move on to a wide variety of senior settings in the independent or maintained sectors or to local grammar schools. Many pupils achieve academic, sport, creative arts and music scholarship success.
The School is sited in a Georgian mansion and purpose-built classroom blocks. “Greenwood Nursery”, a stunning new architect-designed, sustainable Eco complex, nestles in a gated woodland forest play area. Yarrells rejoices in its beautiful natural environment of playing fields, woodland and gardens, which surround a swimming pool, tennis courts, outdoor Science Centre and pupils’ kitchen garden.
