As a regular part of curricular studies, pupils from Nursery to Year 8 enjoy lessons in music, dance, drama and art. Annually, all our children take part in assemblies and concerts and perform in plays, for families and peers. Art, music, dance and drama are equally important in the school and form a fundamental part of every child’s education. Talents and enthusiasm in the visual and performing arts are recognised in our Arts Mark programme. Many of our musicians, dancers and actors take public exams. Some of our talented senior pupils choose to apply for and achieve scholarships to senior independent schools each year. The importance of the Arts cannot be stressed enough; the creative thinking skills they learn will be vital for gaining employment in later life. The high quality of their dramatic performances is beyond their young years and gives them confidence and self-belief. Every child in the school sings with many taking individual music lessons and playing in groups and ensembles on a regular basis. Art is a fundamental part of every child’s education with some talented pupils taking Arts Mark Awards. Alongside our creative curriculum for all children, we offer a range of extra -curricular opportunities for children to explore and develop the Arts further.
