100% Distinctions in LAMDA Speech and Drama Examinations
Outstanding results that celebrate confidence, creativity and excellence in performance.
At Yarrells School, the performing arts are at the heart of what we do – helping children to grow in confidence, creativity and communication. Our pupils have once again demonstrated their exceptional talent and dedication through outstanding achievements in Speech and Drama, with every child awarded a Distinction in their LAMDA examinations for the 2024–2025 academic year.
Speech and Drama lessons at Yarrells offer pupils the opportunity to explore language, performance and self-expression in a supportive and inspiring environment. Whether performing a dramatic monologue, reciting poetry or working collaboratively on duologues, pupils learn to:
Lessons are led by Mrs Gill (BA Hons, PGCE), an experienced drama educator with over 20 years of teaching expertise. Passionate about using drama to build communication skills and self-esteem, Mrs Gill has written and directed plays for an international children’s drama academy, with her work performed around the world.
Her thoughtful and encouraging approach helps each child discover their unique voice and gain confidence both on and off the stage.
This year’s LAMDA Speech and Drama examination results are truly exceptional, with every single Yarrells pupil achieving a Distinction. From Acting and Verse and Prose to Duologue performances, pupils in Years 4 to 6 demonstrated creativity, expression and confidence beyond their years.
These results reflect not only the pupils’ hard work and enthusiasm but also the strength of Yarrells’ performing arts programme and the dedication of our talented teaching team.
Individual Speech and Drama tuition is available for pupils in Years 2 to 6, providing every child with the chance to explore their creativity, grow in confidence and work towards a L.A.M.D.A. award (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art).
Through drama, pupils learn to communicate with confidence, express themselves clearly and perform with pride – skills that will serve them throughout their lives.
Yarrells School continues to celebrate the joy of performance, the power of expression and the success of our pupils in the performing arts.
We are immensely proud of every child who takes to the stage and brings the spirit of Yarrells to life through drama and performance.
