What is a Significant Strength?
ABOUT THE AWARD
A Significant Strength is the ISI's highest form of commendation in any given area. It indicates that a school has gone substantially beyond expectations, delivering exemplary provision that serves as a model of excellence nationally.
ISI is the government-approved body responsible for inspecting schools in membership of the Independent Schools Council. It reports directly to the Department for Education on whether schools meet statutory requirements.
Yarrells received this commendation in the area of Quality of Education, Training and Recreation, specifically for the greater depth of pupils' knowledge and understanding, the product of exceptional teaching and curriculum design.

The Gold Standard of Independent Inspection
ABOUT THE ISI
The Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) is the government-approved body responsible for the inspection of schools in membership of the Associations that make up the Independent Schools Council.
ISI is approved under Section 109 of the Education and Skills Act 2008 and reports to the Department for Education. It provides objective inspections that safeguard quality, effectiveness, education, care and welfare of children in schools.
Every ISI inspection includes an element of peer review. Highly trained Reporting Inspectors are joined by current practitioners with day-to-day experience in today's schools. Pupils are prioritised, all are invited to complete a confidential questionnaire and inspectors hold formal and informal meetings to hear their voices directly.
