Yarrells: A great big hug of a school!
Join our Estates team and play a vital role in maintaining our school’s environment, ensuring a safe, well-maintained, and inspiring space for our students and staff. Working alongside experienced colleagues, you’ll contribute to all aspects of the school’s grounds, buildings, facilities, and equipment maintenance.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 06:30 – 15:00, up to 40 hours per week
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary Range: £12.71-13.00 per hour, depending on experience (up to £27,040 per annum)
Holiday Entitlement: 20 days plus bank holidays
Start Date: January 2026

Year 4’s Christingle Creations!
The classroom was bursting with energy as everyone gathered oranges, ribbons, candles, and (most importantly!) sweets to build their colourful creations.
As they worked, the children chatted about the different items and what they
symbolise. There was plenty of concentration, a few wobbly candles, and lots of
proud smiles as each Christingle came together.

Upton in Bloom Poetry Final 2025!
On Thursday 4th December, nine pupils from Yarrells went to Lytchett Minster Church for the Upton in Bloom Poetry Finals. This annual event, organised by Upton in Bloom, is open to local schools, and the competition was fierce as ever!
All of our poets represented themselves and Yarrells marvellously, and were duly rewarded with medals and certificates. Well done! We are incredibly proud of you all.

Yesterday our pupils in Years 3–6 were very lucky to welcome a special visitor to our school, our local MP, @vikkislade. Vikki explained the important role of a Member of Parliament and gave a fascinating insight into how Parliament works.
The pupils were amazed to learn that she is just one of 650 MPs in the UK, each representing around 75,000 people.
It was inspiring to hear why she chose to become an MP:
“I had a passion. I saw something that needed fixing. I had a desire to make a difference. I have a voice.”

Join us for a festive and fun-filled Stay & Play session at Yarrells School! This special Christmas event is perfect for families not currently at Yarrells who have children starting Reception in 2026 and would love to experience the warmth and wonder of our school community.
What to Expect:
- Christmas-themed activities and play
- A chance for your child to meet and play with our current Squirrels children
- Drinks and snacks for children
- Parents stay for the session - ask questions and learn more about life at Yarrells
