Yarrells School and Nursery is looking for a detail-oriented and organised Finance Assistant to join our school’s administrative team.
The successful candidate will support the Finance Manager in managing the school’s financial operations, including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, monthly reporting and Early Years funding. This role provides scope for achieving relevant qualifications and is open to applications from apprentices.
You will have a positive attitude, an ability to work on your own and as part of a team, and a willingness to be an active part of a busy prep school environment.
Strong communication, ICT and literacy skills are a must.

Yesterday our Year 6 pupils visited West Hants Club to watch the U11 national tennis event.
They thoroughly enjoyed watching high-level matches and gained valuable insights into different types of court surfaces, as well as key aspects of tennis etiquette.
With beautiful sunshine and inspiring performances all around, the atmosphere was fantastic and our pupils had a truly memorable day.

Year 3 recently visited The Ancient Technology Centre in Cranborne and lived like Vikings!
They enjoyed many activities including Grinding our grain to make the flour for flatbread, and prepared a delicious dinner.
After dinner we enjoyed s’mores and Viking games! An incredible time was had by all!

Year 2’s Moors Valley Adventure 🌳
Last week, Year 2 enjoyed an exciting day out at Moors Valley! Children, teachers, and our fantastic parent helpers all had a fabulous time exploring everything the park has to offer – from orienteering and investigating habitats to hours of fun in the adventure playground. It was a day of discovery, teamwork, and fresh air, making learning come alive outside the classroom!

Yarrells was buzzing with excitement as we celebrated World Environment Day in wild style!
Year 5 & 6 were lucky to take part in an inspiring workshop led by one of the WWF officers.
We were overwhelmed by the generosity shown through sponsorship for our collective run from Land's End to John O'Groats as well as donations for the cake sale.
We're thrilled to announce that the funds raised will be split between the WWF UK and MND Association.
We are delighted to share that we have raised a total of £2061 so far - thank you all for your incredible support!
The day also saw the presentation of our Nature Photography and Art Competition, we will share more on the winners and runners up in our weekly newsletter.
Mrs Sharpe was delighted to share a handwritten letter from one of her heroes, Sir David Attenborough. Although he was unable to judge the competition himself, he continues to be an inspiration.

Our Gardening Club have been hard at work planting, maintaining, and nurturing a beautiful variety of vegetables - including our new sweetcorn this week!

Our sailors showed incredible resilience and determination on the water in some tricky weather conditions!
Race 1: Sophie & Charlotte finished 8th, with Rufus & Emilia close behind in 13th.
Unfortunately, Race 2 was called early – but spirits stayed high.

Our Year 4 children recently embarked on an unforgettable residential trip to Brenscombe Outdoor Centre, nestled near historic Corfe Castle on Dorset’s Jurassic Coast. This picturesque setting provided the perfect backdrop for two days filled with adventure, learning, and personal growth.
Throughout their stay, the children engaged in a variety of exhilarating activities designed to foster teamwork, resilience, and confidence. Highlights included navigating the high and low ropes courses, testing their aim in archery, participating in the catapult challenge, and embarking on a stunning sunset walk over the ridge. Each activity was carefully crafted to encourage the children to step out of their comfort zones and collaborate effectively with their peers.
Fun was definitely had by all!
